Capturing Raindrops
I always get excited when it rains. It doesn't happen very often around here, so when it does I have a tendency to grab my camera and snap away. The above photo, of raindrops on lemon leaves, was taken during the only 90 seconds I ever saw the rain stop the entire afternoon. I snapped only two photos, before the rain started dropping on me, and on my precious camera. But one of the shots was good, so it was worth the damp!
Since I had the camera out anyway, how about a few photos of my little fish?
What had been a gentle, constant rain all day, turned into a wind whipping downpour once the sun went down. So naturally that means I have to snap photos just to see if I can capture the rain. Talk about an elusive subject to photograph!
A challenging, but worthy subject. I am pleased with my captures today. I even managed to stay mostly dry!
Rain
We had one hell of a storm blow in. I was worried about my roof there for a while, but all is well (and dry). The rain was pouring down in sheets, and the wind was pushing the water up the street. It was pretty impressive. The recycle bin got blown over. Naturally I just had to take photographs of the weather before I rescued the bin.
I took this photo in my garage, while the rain was pelting everything within three feet of the opening!
It eased up just a little bit, and you can already see the difference in the light reflections and the flooding street water. It rains so infrequently here, I always get excited when it does!
