Limoncello
Time to zest the lemons. Oh my, are there a LOT of lemons! What you see here is the zest from 20 lemons. The basket right behind it actually has twenty lemons in it. Let me just say, that's a lot of lemons to zest. However, my awesome microplane zester makes it ever so much easier!
Why am I zesting so many lemons? To make limoncello, of course! Can you tell me something better to make with oodles of lemons?
There it is, the lemon zest, some vodka. Now it will steep and infuse for no less than two months. That's right, people, I make some PREMIUM limoncello, the likes of which you cannot buy. Really, it's that amazingly good. Come for a visit and I'll give you a taste! I've got a batch I put down in January, that's just about ready.
Loss of a Peach
I have been hoping that my poor peach bush, ill-done by the summer heat this year, would find new life this spring. Those dead leaves never dropped, and worse, the spring buds are showing no signs of coming. One after the other, the summer heat is killing off my favorite plants!
A small toast to the peach. The birds will mourn your passing as much as I do.
